Due to the COVID-19 pandemic our office will be closed for the next week. We will continue to re-evaluate the situation weekly to determine when it is safe for the office to re-open. We have temporarily suspended any missed appointment or late notice cancelation fees during this time.
We understand that this is inconvenient, but we know this decision is the safest thing we can do for the practice's patients, parents and our dedicated staff.
Currently, the spread of COVID-19 is thought to be primarily through infected droplets which occur when an infected individual coughs or sneezes. Many of our dental instruments cause aerosols to be produced. If a patient is treated and happens to be infected, that infection could be transmitted to others.
Transmission can also occur by direct contact with an infected person or touching a contaminated surface. Reportedly, children suffer mild to no symptoms but remain contagious. It is impossible for our staff to prevent children from interacting with one another and keep all surfaces free of contamination with multiple families present in our office.
If your child has a dental emergency, we will be available for an evaluation.
We hope everyone understands and supports our decision to have our office do our part to prevent the spread of this outbreak. Please visit our website for any updates at KATYCHILDRENSDENTIST.COM
